Kenya AA — Aberdare Range

The Volcanic Soul: Where the Rift Valley Meets Your Cup

Perched at 1,700–2,100 metres above sea level, our plantations thrive in one of the world's most elite coffee-growing environments. The steep, tiered slopes ensure perfect drainage and intense sun exposure, nurturing the SL 28 and SL 34 varietals that give our Kenya AA its signature wine-like acidity and syrupy sweetness.

What's in your cup

Expert tip

To fully unlock the complex dual nature of this lot, try it as a pour-over at 94°C with a standard 1:16 ratio. A slower, multi-pour extraction slows down the wash cycle, cleanly separating the sharp, juicy blackcurrant top notes from the dense baking chocolate baseline as the cup cools.

Caffeine Levels & Your Heart

Coffee & Wellness

Grown at high altitudes, our Kenya AA is a pure Arabica coffee, which naturally contains less caffeine than Robusta varieties. While a moderate intake of 4–5 cups a day is considered safe for most, caffeine can temporarily raise your heart rate. We believe in enjoying the vibrant ritual of coffee responsibly; if you have a pre-existing heart condition or are sensitive to stimulants, we recommend consulting a healthcare professional or visiting the British Heart Foundation for expert guidance on caffeine and heart health.

★ THE ARABICA PROMISE

★ THE HIGHLAND QUALITY STANDARD

Our Kenya AA represents the pinnacle of East African coffee—a distinction marked by the leaf of the high-altitude Arabica plant. Grown in the mineral-rich volcanic soil of Mount Kenya and the Aberdare Range, these beans are a heritage blend of elite SL 28 and SL 34 varietals.

This Quality Badge certifies that every lot is meticulously sun-dried for 21 days and sourced from cooperatives dedicated to sustainability and community growth. The result is a vibrant, syrupy cup that honors the natural beauty of the land and the hands that nurtured it.

Where your coffee originates from?

Origin: Central Highlands, Kenya

Cultivated in the nutrient-rich volcanic soil of the Aberdare Range and the foothills of Mount Kenya. At altitudes of 1,700–2,100 metres, the cool climate and distinct wet-dry seasons allow the cherries to ripen slowly, concentrating the sugars and developing the intense, vibrant acidity that makes this region world-famous.
