Brewing Methods | Hover to unlock your perfect cup

French Press
⭐ The best way to brew Glacier Crest. Coarse grind, 94–96°C, 4-minute steep. No paper filter means the full natural oils come through — amplifying the dark chocolate depth and syrupy body. Press slowly, pour immediately, and let it cool slightly before your first sip. This is the brew method this coffee was made for.

French Press

Batch Brew
✗ Not Recommended - Consistent, effortless, and surprisingly elegant. Medium-coarse grind, 92–94°C, standard drip ratio of 1:16 — 60g per litre. Glacier Crest holds up beautifully in batch brew — the dark chocolate and toasted toffee notes stay rich and rounded even at volume. Ideal for mornings when you need more than one cup without the fuss. A decaf that performs like a full-origin single. Note: for the fullest expression of this coffee, we recommend French Press.

Batch Brew

Espresso
⭐ Recommended - Bold, intense, and deeply satisfying. Fine grind, 92–94°C, 9 bar pressure, 25–30 second extraction. Dose at 18–20g for a double shot. Glacier Crest pulls a rich, syrupy espresso with a thick crema and pronounced dark chocolate finish — the low acidity makes it exceptionally smooth. Outstanding as a straight shot or with milk. A decaf espresso that doesn't compromise.

Espresso

V60
✗ Not Recommended - Clean, precise, and revealing. Medium-fine grind, 90–92°C, 1:15 ratio — 15g coffee to 225ml water. Pour in slow, concentric circles starting from the centre. 30-second bloom with 50ml, then pour in two or three stages over 2.5–3 minutes. The V60 highlights the cleaner, brighter side of Glacier Crest — the toasted toffee sweetness comes forward and the body stays smooth. A more delicate brew than French Press, but equally rewarding.

V60

Aeropress
✗ Not Recommended - Versatile, forgiving, and fast. Medium-fine grind, 90–92°C, 1:15 ratio — 15g coffee to 225ml water. Add grounds, pour water, stir briefly, and press slowly over 1–2 minutes. The Aeropress produces a clean, concentrated cup with good body — the dark chocolate notes come through clearly with minimal bitterness. Try the inverted method for a longer steep and richer extraction. A solid everyday brew for Glacier Crest.

Aeropress

Cold Press
✗ Not Recommended - Smooth, mellow, and naturally sweet. Coarse grind, cold or room temperature water, 1:8 ratio — 100g coffee to 800ml water. Steep for 12–18 hours in the fridge. Strain and serve over ice. Glacier Crest makes a surprisingly good cold brew — the dark chocolate and toffee notes become silky and sweet without any bitterness. As a decaf cold brew, it's perfect for evenings. No caffeine, no compromise.

Whats in your cup?

  • Cost Per Cup

250g makes approximately 12 cups at 2g per cup — that's just £1.33/cup. 500g gives you around 25 cups at £0.64/cup. And with 1kg you're brewing around 50 cups at just £0.90/cup. Premium Swiss Water decaf, priced for every day.

  • Caffeine & Heart Health

Brazil Glacier Crest is a premium Swiss Water decaffeinated single-origin coffee, sourced from the rolling hills of Pinhal in Brazil's celebrated Cerrado region. The Swiss Water Process removes 99.9% of caffeine without chemicals, preserving the full character of the bean — rich dark chocolate, roasted praline, and toasted toffee, with a syrupy body and naturally low acidity. Rich in antioxidants and naturally occurring chlorogenic acids. According to the British Heart Foundation, moderate coffee consumption can be part of a healthy lifestyle. All the ritual. None of the caffeine.

  • Expert Tip

Grind fresh, every time. Brazil Glacier Crest rewards a medium-coarse grind — coarser for French Press and cold brew, finer for espresso and Aeropress. Brew at 92–96°C — Swiss Water decaf extracts beautifully at slightly higher temperatures than light roasts. Give it a 30-second bloom to release the CO₂. The dark chocolate and praline notes deepen as the cup cools — don't rush it.

  • Origin

Grown in the Pinhal region of Brazil's Cerrado Mineiro, at 900–1,100m above sea level — one of the world's most consistent and celebrated coffee-growing plateaus. Bourbon and Catuaí varieties thrive in the deep, well-drained soils and long dry seasons, creating ideal conditions for slow cherry development and a rich, full-bodied cup. Naturally processed and sun-dried. 100% single-origin Arabica. Swiss Water decaffeinated to 99.9% caffeine-free.

  • Storage & Freshness

Keep It Fresh. Keep It Flavourful. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, heat, and strong odours. Our resealable pouches are designed to lock in freshness — squeeze out excess air after each use and seal tightly. Once opened, best consumed within 6 months for peak flavour. Unopened, the bag stays fresh for up to 24 months. Do not refrigerate — condensation degrades the bean's natural oils and dulls the rich dark chocolate and praline character that makes Glacier Crest exceptional. For whole bean, grind only what you need — ground coffee loses its character within days of opening.
